Local Wild Food Festival Weekend
Whakatāne's Local Wild Food Challenge returns in 2022 but this time it's bigger and better that before, as part of a Local Wild Food Festival weekend.
- Friday 18th November - Wild Food Feasting
- Saturday 19th November - Local Wild Food Festival
The Local Wild Food Festival (previously the Local Wild Food Challenge) will encompass multiple events across the weekend.
The challenge element of the food festival will return and we encourage local foodies to enter the competition, preparing a wild food dish presented for judging on the day. The kids cooking competition will also return with a number of prizes up for grabs for both the adult and children’s categories.
As well as this Wild Food Feasting will be a ticketed events too that will allow you to indulge in all the best kai our rohe has on offer.
