Restoring Katikati catchments

Katikati, Western Bay

Project Parore is a community-leg group committed to improving water quality and restoring native biodiversity across eight catchments in the Western Waiariki region. They are achieving this by empowering locals to improve land management, water quality, soil health and habitats for native species. Striving to create an engaged community that want to sustain the environment in their own backyards, this awesome group are making big changes in the Western Bay.

Native flora: Kauri, rimu, tawa, harakeke flax, ponga, silver fern, toetoe, five finger, kahikatea.
Mana whenua: Ngāti Ranginui, Ngāi Te Rangi.
