Majestic, ancient, powerful - the Whirinaki Te Pua-a-Tāne forest is one of the last prehistoric rainforests in the world! Be transported back in time as you feel the gentle silence across this great landscape. Nestled at the border between Waiariki and Ikaroa-Rāwhiti, it’s the perfect place for walkers and trampers to be left awestruck as you walk among native rimu and tōtara.
