Sitting on the edge of the Tauranga inner harbour, the tranquil Katikati Bird Gardens boasts a vast array of native flora and fauna and is also home to several native bird species. Tūī, matuku moana (white-faced heron), pīwakawaka (fantail) and (riroriro) grey warblers can be heard in the surrounding trees and once you’ve finished a stroll around the impressive gardens, grab something to eat and drink in the family-owned café.
