Follow the footsteps of Toi

Whakatāne, Eastern Bay
2-7 hours return (several tracks)  -   Easy to moderate level

High above Whakatāne lies the Ngā Tapuwae O Toi walkway. Steeped in Māori culture and history, this land was once the dominion of the great chieftain Toi. Along the way, you will encounter native kererū and tūī singing out.

Mana whenua: Ngāti Awa.
